In 1988 the Armenian Relief Society in Germany launched a series of support programs in Armenia, and on this basis began the history of Diaconia Charitable Foundation.The foundation staff consists of 60 people. The objective of Diaconia is to help needy families and execute activities that will help a person in need to meet his own demands over the course of time, come out of a role of a pleading person, to have a real hope of living a better life.

During the workcamp, volunteers will work with children from socially vulnerable families living in the vicinity of the Diaconia Foundation, in houses donated by sponsors in the Huysi Avan district.The main activities are: in the morning, volunteers will be involved in cleaning work; in the afternoon, they will organize cultural development programs for children from socially vulnerable families in theHuysi Avan district, such as singing, dancing, and painting. They will organize various volunteer competitions.Volunteers will teach their national songs and dances, which will be included in the final event display.Volunteers will also be involved in the Foundation s activities: distribution of food, school supplies, and provision of clothing; visiting families in different regions of Armenia to assess their needs; organizingfree recreational activities for children with disabilities; and home visits.Participants will receive certificates and letters of appreciation at the end of the workcamp.
Konaklama ve Yemek
The participants will stay in the two-story building of the foundation. The rooms are designedseparately for boys and girls. All conditions are suitable for living in the building.
Konum ve Serbest Zaman
Cultural Program: Volunteers will have three outside trips to Sevan Lake, Garni Temple, Geghard Monastery, Symphony of stones, visits to the Mother Cathedral in Etchmiadzin, Zvartnots Cathedral ruins, as well as museums and exhibitions in Yerevan. All of these is for free.Study part: Armenian dance, song, and language workshops, along with dolma and barbeque-making classes.
