The Promesa Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2010 by initiative of Scouts de Madrid – MSC, based in Madrid and dedicated to promoting non-formal education and the holistic development of children and young people. Its mission is to foster education in values and the personal growth of children and youth, both in non-school contexts and in collaboration with schools and other institutions, supporting educational, social, and cultural programs.

Tasks related to the volunteer camp
Your volunteering experience will be divided into three thematic areas:
Environmental: awareness workshops and hands-on activities, including an energy-themed mural, creation of an ecological urban garden, a vertical garden, and renewable energy projects such as solar cars, solar ovens, and sundials.
Development of social, cultural, and environmental skills in participating young people, as well as promoting active participation in associations.
Volunteer training and empowerment: providing volunteers with training and tools to facilitate their work in imparting knowledge, fostering attitude changes, and developing specific behavioral guidelines aimed at preventing and mitigating climate change, with a focus on individual or small-group actions that contribute to this goal.
Promotion of educational exchanges and best practices among volunteers from different countries to achieve common objectives in environmental protection and volunteer training.

Scout Madrid Hostel is located in the Moratalaz neighborhood, very close to the center of Madrid by public transport. It is housed in a fully renovated building with a modern and functional design. A virtual tour of the hostel is available on the website: https://scoutmadridhostel.com/
Common Areas:
Scout Madrid Hostel is spread over two floors, surrounded by green areas, and with essential services nearby (shops, transport, etc.). It offers:
Lounge area with TV, internet-connected computers, and a printer.
Conference and training center.
Dining room with 74 seats (breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc.).
Luggage storage.
Guest kitchen equipped with ceramic hob, microwave, refrigerator, and all necessary utensils.
Patio (200 m²) and terrace (140 m²) over two levels, integrated into the complex with perimeter fencing, equipped for relaxation.
Laundry: washing machine and dryer.
Supervised bicycle parking on the premises.
Scout store offering uniform items and outdoor activity equipment.
Rooms:
All our dormitories are exterior-facing, very bright, and quiet. They also include:
Bunk beds with individual sockets and lights.
Individual lockers.
Electronic room access with NFC locks.
Shared bathrooms easily accessible from the rooms.
Individual climate control (heating and air conditioning).
Our rooms have capacities of 6, 8, or 12 people. We also have one room and bathroom adapted for people with disabilities.
All meals will be provided at Scout Madrid Hostel through their catering service. They will take place in the hostel’s dining room. Main meals consist of two courses, bread, and dessert, and are balanced, using seasonal products. Special diets and the needs of participants are taken into account. During leisure activities and nature outings, Scout Madrid Hostel will provide individualized picnic meals for participants.

Cultural and historical visits in the surroundings of Madrid.
Visits to two environmental centers of interest.
Artistic activities, including dance, music, theater, or comedy.
Local festivals taking place in the city during this period.
Visits to exhibitions, such as those at CaixaForum or Fundación Telefónica.
