In every country, Tanzania included, there are unfortunately many children who have been abandoned to their own luck. Orphans born in homes with no love, abused, or suffer poverty and sickness. These children need a loving heart, attention, education and friends who can help them find a better life full of opportunities, be successful and most importantly live a happy life. Anita’s Memorial Day care-center is an initiative established to honor dreams and vision of a young lady, the Late Anita Mlay. Her intention has been to establish a children center to support vulnerable children in her community. Unfortunately, she passed away at a very early age before realizing her dream.
Child’s Safer place is a project aiming to increase the overall wellbeing of the children in the community through various approaches. The goal is to provide a safe place for children of all abilities during the day to spend their time while their parents are at work, accessible services for children from low-income families and children, disabilities and those who are vulnerable. The project started in 2024 and currently has 15 children at the center. This number is expected to rise in 2025. The age of the children is from 2 to 5 years old.
