The Green World is a community-based organization that empowers communities through agribusiness and environment conservation activities. The organization also runs rehabilitation and economic empowerment programs in prisons. The green world is trying to make community members self-reliant through the creation of green-collar jobs within their locality to minimize rural-urban migration thus decongesting slums and creating a healthier environment. The community members are also mobilized to plant trees as a way of combating climate change and increasing forest cover to conform to government policy.
The green world is engaging in rehabilitation activities in prisons to make inmates feel part of society and give them hope of starting a new life upon coming out of prison. Usually, majority of people or family members are hostile to people who are released from prison due to the mistakes they made. This project helps with reintegration into the community in liaison with the local administration. The released persons start income-generating projects as part of reintegration process.
The organization is also promoting sporting activities in schools as a way of nurturing students’ talents hence creating cohesion and love within the community.

The volunteer will be accommodated at a host house and food will be provided. Volunteers may need to commute to different areas for tree planting.

CIVS Kenya organizes tours and safaris to spectacular sites of interest in Kenya. Volunteers, who wish to participate, should let us know as soon as possible in order to enable us to make proper arrangements. The fee charged is all-inclusive of meals, transport, park entry fees, accommodation and tour guiding. The cost of a 3 days safari to Maasai Mara National Reserve is 400 Euros in a Tour Van and 470 Euros in a Tour Jeep.
