Kuruluş
The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. Our principles: Ecological learning, voluntary contribution, self-organisation, social development, intercultural learning, gender equality, anti-racism/anti-discrimination and political education.

İş Tanımı
Would you like to work in a friendly community in the heart of the Bavarian Forest Nature Park, make new friends, and experience the Bavarian way of life up close? Then Runding is the place for you! In Runding, you will work together with other international volunteers to help with maintenance work around the castle ruins. At the beginning, you will receive an introduction to ecology. The castle ruins also provide breeding grounds, which need to be marked out. There are also plants that need to be protected. You will receive all the important information about this as well. Taller hedges need to be cut, then pulled out and removed. There is also mowing and simple weeding to be done. You will work together with an employee from the building yard. The aim of the project is to clear the moat of overgrowth so that sheep can graze there. There will also be a big show at the castle on the weekend you arrive. You will also help the community with the dismantling. It is important to know that Runding is a small village. This means you will experience rural tranquility and cozy village life. There is no hustle and bustle of a metropolis, but you will get to know an active and open community and discover a real piece of Bavaria.

Runding is located in the Bavarian Forest. On the weekend of your arrival, the Bavarian adaptation of the Rocky Horror Picture Show will be performed on the open-air stage of the Runding castle ruins. You will receive free tickets for the event. This weekend is also a Christian holiday: Assumption Day. Various church festivals will take place. On this day, in addition to church services, there are also folk festivals, markets, and traditional customs. And the Gäubodenvolksfest is also taking place in Straubing. It is Bavaria's second largest folk festival after Oktoberfest, a mixture of tradition and modernity with over 120 shops and 7 large beer tents. On the second weekend, it's worth taking a trip to the beautiful city of Regensburg or driving to Pilsen in Czechia. If you like hiking, there are of course many opportunities in the Bavarian Forest. You can also visit the observatory in Roßberg. The municipality certainly has a few more excursion tips.
