Voluntary service is a unique cross-cultural experience program connecting people from around the world with local communities in Tanzania. The program offers a powerful vision built on our belief that volunteers have a vital role to play in development and in building a more just and sustainable society. Communication section is one of the key pillars in implementation of the program due to the digitalization of communication. This section is now looking for a volunteer to assist communications, promotion, branding or marketing. This position will help to gain hands-on experience and training in many aspects of marketing and development, while also gaining a good understanding of voluntary service organizations.

Assisting to maintain and update social media sites.
Assisting in liaising with volunteer coordinators and project management team to create relevant media content for each project (promoting events).
Assisting with certain press opportunities – press releases, sponsorship opportunities, advertisements, and promotional materials etc.
Assisting with mailings to our audience and other contacts.

You will be accommodated at the host family located in an eco-village. Basic accommodation facilities will be provided, and you should expect to share room with either host family member or other volunteer from the same or other projects. Food will be provided in the host family as well at the project. Vegetarian meals will be available.

The project is a located in Chamazi; a community found about 25km South of Dar es Salaam city and almost the same distance from Julius Nyerere International airport, Dar es Salaam A good number of social services are available including telecommunications, Police station, shopping centers, Pubs, banking facilitates, etc. All this makes the community attractive to live for people who are commuting to Dar es salaam city Centre for work every day. The community is accessible through public and private transport systems. We have a lot to enjoy at the Eco-village including walking in woods and other sports, traditional meals and entertainments, there is also a possibility to visit the National Museum, village museum, city tour. More activities include Dar es Salaam Zoo, swimming and beach activities, visiting the close by Mikuni or Selous National Park. A night in Zanzibar during weekends has been always an option.

The project is looking for a volunteer who can spend a minimum 4 weeks and 12 weeks maximum. He/she should be energetic, inventive and hard working with ideas about creative ways to engage audiences in achieving the organization’s mission. He/she is expected to have knowledge and experience with social media platforms, commitment to professional ethics and abilities to handle sensitive and confidential information. Affinity with Graphic design platforms and Website content management system will be appreciated.
