Twistringen Town Youth Centre and Youth Welfare Service
The youth centre in Twistringen is a meeting place for children and young people aged 10 to 20. Here, they cook, bake, chat and play. There are regular table football and snooker tournaments. In addition, the youth welfare staff offer socio-cultural activities such as theatre and dance workshops, various other workshops and a holiday programme. The focus is on working together and building personal self-efficacy. Everyone is involved in these projects in a participatory manner, from the initial idea right through to implementation.

The ijgd have been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. Our principles: Ecological learning, voluntary contribution, self-organisation, social development, intercultural learning, gender equality, anti-racism/anti-discrimination and political education.

İş Tanımı
From a simple lawn to a creative meeting place: join the international work camp in Twistringen! Work alongside young people from the region to transform the youth centre into a revitalised venue. The garden will be turned into an attractive event site with new flower beds, music, theatre and dance. The hallway will become an exhibition space. Feel free to bring your own ideas. What special cultural venues do you know of? What did you like about them? How can a place be transformed into a ‘place to be’? At the end of the project, the space will be officially opened with a lively celebration.
Konaklama ve Yemek
You’ll be staying right next to your workplace, the youth centre in Twistringen. There you’ll have access to a well-equipped kitchen and a dining and lounge area. Another large room will be set up for you with air mattresses. To have a shower, you’ll cycle to the nearby sports hall, which is just a three-minute bike ride away.

You will cook together. Money for food will be provided. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please state any intolerances during registration.
Please Note: Self-organization is also a key point of the camp during your daily camp routines. Shopping, cooking, and cleaning are all planned and done independently within the group.
Each participant is expected to take part in the CCC (cooking-cleaning-crew). The advantage is, of course, that you will have the opportunity to eat international dishes and cuisine at every meal and realize that cleaning yourselves can lead to a great deal of fun in the group.
Konum ve Serbest Zaman
The accommodation features a communal lounge area with seating corners, a projector, a musicbox and a small kitchen, which is also open as a meeting place for young people from Twistringen from Monday to Friday, 3 pm to 7 pm. There is a table tennis and table football. In front of the house there is a playground with a basketball hoop. In the garden, you can set up beer tables and have a barbecue. Bicycles are provided for trips in the surrounding area. In eight minutes, you can reach the water park with beach volleyball courts and a giant slide. The fossil pit in Twistringen is one of the most species-rich fossil sites from the Miocene epoch. There, you can go in search of small fossils such as snails, shells or shark teeth. It’s an eleven-minute cycle ride away. The Straw Museum, which you can also reach in five minutes, tells the story of over 300 years of straw production and the products made from straw. A real gem for lovers of lovingly run local history museums. At the weekend, it’s well worth taking a trip to the cities of Bremen, Bremerhaven (with its fantastic Klimahaus), Hanover or Osnabrück.
