This work camp, to be carried out in Maputo Province, specifically in Ponta do Ouro Village, focuses on promoting environmental education among local communities, especially children, teens and youngs. The initiative arises from the need to strengthen ecological awareness in a context marked by challenges such as inadequate waste management, ecosystem degradation, and increasing climate vulnerability. Through practical, educational, and participatory activities, the project aims to encourage sustainable behaviors, enhance the region's natural resources, and reinforce the community's role in environmental preservation.
The project will focus on participatory and gender-inclusive planning during the fieldwork. About fifteen to twenty volunteers will join in the learning. In the execution of the project, men and women will have the capacity to produce beds, prepare and work the land through techniques used in Agriculture.

Ponto de Ouro
Ponta de Ouro is a coastal tourist locality located in the south of Mozambique, in the Maputo province, Matutuíne district, very close to the border with South Africa. It is famous for its white sandy beaches, clear waters, and strong waves, highly sought after for leisure and water sports. Despite tourism, it maintains an active local community, with markets, accommodations, restaurants, and small tourist resorts.

Travel from Maputo to Ponta do Ouro Village, it’s about 170 kms. There 2 ways how you can travel.
Travel by bus and car/taxi. The most popular way to travel from Maputo to Ponta de Ouro is to take a bus. Travelling by taxi takes about 2:30 minutes.
There are currently bus and Taxi a day from Maputo to Ponta de Ouro.
