Join us on an adventure in the heart of the Vosges mountains with Plates Stories! Over two weeks, we will come together to discuss, share, and explore the topic of sustainable food.
The aim of this project is to come together around a subject that affects us all daily: the way we eat. Through this exchange, we want to open a space for reflection on sustainable food and the links between our food choices, history, social inequalities, and the values that guide our societies.
Through activities and discussions, we will share our food practices and habits to better understand what influences them: the environment in which we live, traditions, access to resources, and issues of social justice. Together, we will seek to better understand the effects of our food choices, from a local to a global scale, and to reflect on how more ethical eating can contribute to building a more just and sustainable world. To do this, we will also meet the local population to ask them about their practices. The project will end with a collective feedback session (as an exhibition for example), designed together, to share our thoughts, discoveries, and ideas for action.
All these moments will be designed and created collectively, in an inclusive and intercultural meeting space, where everyone will have their place.
İş Tanımı
On a daily basis, we will be supported by a motivated team of four group leaders, two facilitators and a coordinator.
We will have the opportunity to:
- Visit local agricultural and artisanal production sites,
- Share moments with locals (interviews, cooking workshops with them to discover each country's cuisine, etc.),
- Visit local markets and events,
- Share and question our relationship with food, the inequalities that arise from it, and the values associated with it,
- Participate in group activities (games, evening gatherings organized by participants, etc.),
- Prepare an exhibition presenting all the material collected as well as reflections on future projects,
- And many other things that we will build together!
No qualifications or skills are required, just the desire to do things together!
Konaklama ve Yemek
We will be staying at the Maison Louise Scheppler, a group home. We'll be sleeping in rooms for 4 to 8 people. Rooms can be arranged to be single-sex according to the wishes of the participants. Kitchen, toilets, sinks, and showers are available on site. There is no washing machine. Please bring a sleeping bag. Pillows and pillowcases are provided.
More information about the location here: https://foietcultureneuhof.wixsite.com/accueil
Food is provided and included in the budget. We will take turns to prepare meals. We prioritise local (and therefore seasonal) and/or organic purchases, and our meals will be mostly vegetarian (with great alternative ideas to ensure you don't miss out on protein).
We will live as ecologically as possible (using organic cleaning products, travelling by train whenever possible, using an autowash system, etc.) while ensuring everyone's comfort.
