Uganda Pioneers´ Association (UPA) is an indigenous youth voluntary Non-Government Organization (NGO) registered with the National NGO Bureau in Uganda, under No. S5914/114. The organization focuses on offering youths with the opportunity to contribute to community development by involving them in community projects through workcamps and international volunteer exchanges. The organisation is Not-for-Profit and does not represent any political, religious or sectarian motives.

• Restaurant/ Café Manager. Do you like working with people? Are you organised? Nurture Africa is looking for a volunteer who has worked in a restaurant or café and has experience in customer service, how to manage stock and to support the team on how to promote them through social media. If you are a person who likes working with people this position is for you. You will be working with students from our vocational centre and other Nurture Africa staff members to ensure these enterprises are running really well.
• Chef: Are you passionate about cooking? We are looking for a chef to teach students about cooking and work with other kitchen staff to ensure that Nurture Africa Social Enterprise kitchen runs effectively, ensuring food quality and maintaining kitchen equipment, overseeing kitchen staff, tasting dishes before going to customers and preparing for restocking food items as required.
• Social media officer. Do you have experience in making videos, on Instagram, facebook etc. Do you have experience in marketing? Nurture Africa is looking for a volunteer to create content for our social media and communications strategy.
• Vocational administrator/ support: Do you have good experience in organizing? Do you like working in an education environment? Nurture Africa’s vocational centre needs support in its administration, organizing classes, assisting the principal in organizing the vocational school
• Finance officer: To train staff on the use of the advanced excel formulas, to design easy to use automated excel templates, to train staff in the best use of the accounting system by first navigating the system in use to understand it well and then transfer the knowledge to the system users for the best output.
• Teachers: To train students in either carpentry, tailoring, hairdressing, catering, introduction to computer, English and basic mathematics. Our main goal is to impart youth with skills and knowledge
• Health worker skilled in administration/ management. Do you have experience working in a hospital? Are you able to manage staff and people? Nurture Africa is looking for a health worker with administration experience who can assist in the administration of the health centre. Currently Nurture Africa has over 60 staff working in our health centre. We provide maternal and child health, paediatric care, HIV care and treatment & primary health care.

Accomodation
Volunteers has the possibility to choose between staying in the guesthouse, with different international volunteers (sharing room, normally 2-4 people) or to stay in a host family. Accommodation is at the UPA Guesthouse, average but not luxury.
Food
Volunteers prepare their own food. UPA provides gas cooker, a fridge, and utensils.
Alternatively, a volunteer can stay with a host family

The Volunteer may use leisure time to visit some sites around the city which include, Kasubi Tombs, Bahai and Hindu Temples, Uganda Martyrs shrines, local markets, craft shops, Ndere centre, Uganda Museum, Monument sites, Uganda Parliament, factories and other explorations.
