Uganda Pioneers´ Association (UPA) is an indigenous youth voluntary Non-Government Organization (NGO) registered with the National NGO Bureau in Uganda, under No. S5914/114. The organization focuses on offering youths with the opportunity to contribute to community development by involving them in community projects through workcamps and international volunteer exchanges. The organisation is Not-for-Profit and does not represent any political, religious or sectarian motives.

• Preparing resources and materials required in the learning process
• Assist with indoor and outdoor games.
• Assist in arranging parties and other special school days
• Preparing excursions and field tours
• Music, Dance and Drama

• Engaging children with enjoyable literature – reading, storytelling and writing.
• Contribute to documentation of children’s learning.
• Organize children’s holiday camps
• Arranging for teachers and parents’ workshops
• IT-related activities, e.g. web design, social networking, etc.
• Participating in therapy work

Accommodation
Volunteers has the possibility to choose between staying in the guesthouse, with different international volunteers (sharing room, normally 2-4 people) or to stay in a host family. Accommodation is at the UPA Guesthouse, average but not luxury.
Food
Volunteers prepare their own food. UPA provides gas cooker, a fridge, and utensils.
Alternatively, a volunteer can stay with a host family to be more exposed to the Ugandan culture.

LEISURE
The Volunteer may use leisure time to visit some sites around the city which include, Kasubi Tombs, Bahai and Hindu Temples, Uganda Martyrs shrines, local markets, craft shops, Ndere centre, Uganda Museum, Monument sites, Uganda Parliament, factories and other explorations.
