Uganda Pioneers´ Association (UPA) is an indigenous youth voluntary Non-Government Organization (NGO) registered with the National NGO Bureau in Uganda, under No. S5914/114. The organization focuses on offering youths with the opportunity to contribute to community development by involving them in community projects through workcamps and international volunteer exchanges. The organisation is Not-for-Profit and does not represent any political, religious or sectarian motives.

At the school we value multi-tasking with flexibility of our staff and every member of staff is required to participate in other activities that form part of the service package to our clients. The volunteer will be expected also assist the full-time staff by participating in the following activities of the school:
a) Assist in the Talent Development Program comprised of.
- Music dance and drama (contemporary dances like ballet dance, traditional cultural dances, musical instrumentation training.)
- All ball games, that is, football, volleyball, basketball, next ball.
- Indoor games like chess, Art and craft, draft
- Swimming
- Computer lessons
b) Participate in the termly school special activities listed below, they are optional to individual preference:
- Assist in arranging school functions
- Preparing excursions and field tours
- Contribute to documentation of children’s learning.
- Support in religious programs
- Involve and support in research /projects
- Engage in gardening

Accommodation
Volunteers has the possibility to choose between staying in the guesthouse, with different international volunteers (sharing room, normally 2-4 people) or to stay in a host family. Accommodation is at the UPA Guesthouse, average but not luxury.
Food
Volunteers prepare their own food. UPA provides gas cooker, a fridge, and utensils.
Alternatively, a volunteer can stay with a host family to be more exposed to the Ugandan culture.

located in Kampala central division along Nakasero road, near the state house, also close to the central business and government administration center.
LEISURE,
The Volunteer may use leisure time to visit some sites around the city which include, Kasubi Tombs, Bahai and Hindu Temples, Uganda Martyrs shrines, local markets, craft shops, Ndere centre, Uganda Museum, Monument sites, Uganda Parliament, factories and other explorations.

Visa
The volunteers must apply for a tourist visa online with this link. https://www.visas.immigration.go.ug/ . This should be done a couple of weeks or months before the departure date. The form requires you to fill in the address of the contact person in Uganda and you should use: ZZIWA SAMUEL MUSANYUSA, NANSANA WEST I ZONE, +256785601220. The immigration department sends you an approval document which you must print and present on arrival at the airport. The tourist visa costs 50 US $ and it’s paid during the visa application process on the immigration portal using selected pay cards.
