İş Tanımı
SL-India has its very own eco-friendly Centre for Experiential Living (CEL) at Kundapura, in the lush
green, rural area of coastal Karnataka, which is home to breath-taking fauna and flora. The Centre
itself is surrounded by coconut and mango trees, creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity
In 2014, FSL India established a centre with a broad objective of providing a unique opportunity for
National / International volunteers and local communities to understand and experience
Sustainable Agriculture practices, propagating environmental education to youth and children,
training on social leadership and preparation of stakeholders of Sea turtle Conservation through
workshops and awareness sessions. The international volunteers that we receive through the long
term / mid-term / work camp programs will have the chance to experience environment friendly
technologies adopted in the CEL during the orientation seminar, evaluation seminars and get-
together organized by FSL India. Few of the environment friendly technologies adopted are Rain
water harvesting, Solar energy harvesting used for lighting, fans and Solar water heater. The CEL is
established in a location surrounded by greenery and the centre itself has adopted many green
technologies and waste management systems such as the usage of a kitchen waste, dry leaves for
compost. The CEL provides opportunities to interact with many Long Term Volunteers and Home
Based Project volunteers and staff working in and around the centre

Sea Turtle Conservation :
For the past 15 years, the Sea Turtle population has been under threat from fishing and egg
predation by local population. Three species of the protected Sea Turtles are nesting on India’s
West Coast and all of them are endangered species. The increased threats caused by humans
could drive them to extinction
With an effort to protect these endangered species, FSL-India is working along a 60 kilometre
stretch of the beach in the south and north of Kundapur, Karnataka state. The work is focused on
protection and conservation of Sea turtle, by promoting awareness about the eco-system and
addressing related environmental issues
The work involves
• Conducting surveys, gathering and analysis of data (January to April)
• Creating awareness generation amongst the local community, schools children, and harbours
and fishing communities. (November to December)
• You will also be required to build hatcheries, safeguard nesting, build in temporary
information centres, as well as design and create promotional material (January to April)
