Chamazi Youth center is facility owned by UVIKIUTA-Tanzania. The center serves the dual purpose of accommodating unstructured social interaction among different age groups and providing instructional classes all in a safe, supervised environment. The center offers activities and services during non-school hours to children and teens (ages 10-18), including recreation, health and fitness, citizenship and leadership development, remedial classes, Learning foreign Languages, Volunteering and counseling for problems such as drug and alcohol abuse. It is a place where various Youth and adults’ trainings and other social events are conducted. Another project of UVIKIUTA is the proposed Eco- village which is expected to be intentionally designed to be sustainable and regenerate its social and natural environments. It is a model of living that integrates four dimensions of sustainability—ecological, economic, social, and cultural—through participatory local processes. The project aims contribute in lowering environmental impact, often by using renewable energy, locally sourced food, and regenerative practices.

1. Eco-village activities: Assist in sustainable farming like organic gardening, forestry (Tree nurseries establishment), and waste management involving composting, recycling.

2. Assist on daily activities of the Youth center that includes general cleaning, garden and setting/preparing seminar and conference halls for various events.

3. Assist in welcoming and attending visitors of the Youth Center

4. Assist in teaching foreign languages for Youth and adults. (Could be English, French etc.)

5. Assist teens on remedial classes after school hours.
Konaklama ve Yemek
Accommodation will be at the residential house in the Eco village. Volunteers should expect to share rooms. Three meals will be provided at accommodation where volunteer will enjoy actively participation in meals preparation, dish washing and kitchen cleaning. For sustainability reasons, we will consume only food available in the area/Region. However vegetarian meals will be available.

Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays will be free. However, you are advised as well to have an allowance of extra 2-3 days before or after the project to enjoy the most of Dar es salaam and nearby attractions. To have a great time in Dar es Salaam, enjoy the city's cultural and historical sites, relax at its beaches, and experience the local life through markets and food. Popular activities include visiting the National Museum, exploration of kivukoni fish markets, coco beach relaxation, for a day trip, consider an island escape to Bongoyo Island or historical town of Bagamoyo. Other options include a week trip to Zanzibar or Mikumi National Park.
