The Mexican Association of International Volunteering AC (AMVIAC) participates in the transformation of the country through the integration of International Volunteering in projects organized in Mexico and abroad by civil associations, local governments, communities
and organized groups, with the idea that after this experience they can become
more actively involved in the work of their community.

The Maratón AMVIAC MTB is a community-based mountain bike event created as
part of the heritage revitalization process led by AMVIAC since 2019 in the community of El
Hospital, Cuautla, Morelos. The race takes place around the historic landscape of the Ex
Hacienda de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, where AMVIAC has organized more than 15
volunteer camps focused on the conservation of its historic aqueduct and surrounding
territory. In its 5th edition, the marathon will host its first international volunteer camp.
Volunteers will support the preparation and implementation of the event while
participating in a long-term community heritage initiative.
ACTIVITIES: Volunteers will support the organizing team: Before:• trail preparation and
route marking, • logistics support, • hydration station preparation, • participant kit
organization, • environmental cleanup of selected trail sections, During the event: •
assistance at checkpoints and refreshment stations, • support at start/finish area, •
orientation for cyclists, • documentation support (optional) After: • removal of signage, •
environmental cleanup, • evaluation activities with organizers and community members.

Volunteers will be housed in a home with all amenities. Volunteers
must bring a sleeping bag.

The AMVIAC Marathon takes place in a historic region known for its warm weather and rich cultural heritage. This special project serves as a massive gathering point where international volunteers from various summer camps come together for a high-impact community event.
During free time, the focus is on intercultural exchange, including a traditional "Intercultural Night" to share food, music, and traditions. Volunteers can also explore the local community, relax during group activities, and take weekend trips to explore the region's main cultural highlights and natural attractions.

The bus departs from the South Bus Terminal, also known as Taxqueña. If you are coming from the south of the country, arrive at the CAPU terminal in Puebla and from there take a Gold bus to Cuautla. If you are coming from Cuernavaca, take the Estrella Roja bus to Cuautla.
