Over the years, various government agencies have supported the development of coffee farming in Tuburan, culminating in its recognition as the coffee capital of Cebu. Presently, Tuburan Coffee sources beans from over 3,000 hectares of coffee small holdings spread across 29 barangays (villages), benefiting more than 2,000 local farmers from the town in the process. This initiative aimed to promote coffee farming as a more sustainable and lucrative livelihood for upland communities, offering an alternative to activities like charcoal production and firewood gathering, which have contributed significantly to deforestation. This development strategy of the Tuburan local government actively supports the synchronization and ecological balance of nature and human development.

Food would be most likely prepared by local people with mostly local ingredients Participants are encourage to help and learn to prepare and or cook Filipino food The participants will be accommodated at the Coffee farm Community Center within the project site. It is built of concrete materials and with basic facilities. Personal sleeping bags/blankets and pillows are needed. The location has nice natural places for organizing outdoor activities like sports and fun games with local children and young people. Limited WIFI connection is available in the community, mobile data and internet connection are widely accessible in the town proper or selected areas. Volunteers may access Wi-Fi facilities mostly in the town proper only.

Visitors and international volunteers can enjoy guided coffee farm tours, learn about coffee planting, harvesting, processing, and roasting, and experience the local coffee culture. They can also appreciate the mountain scenery, visit the nearby Tuburan 360 cafe and view deck, take photographs, and interact with local farmers to learn about sustainable agriculture and rural community life.
