Kuruluş
The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. Our principles: Ecological learning, voluntary contribution, self-organisation, social development, intercultural learning, gender equality, anti-racism/anti-discrimination and political education.

İş Tanımı
Over 200 years ago, people began to use peat as an energy source due to the increasing demand for energy and the shortage of wood. Across Germany, almost 97% of the original moorland areas were destroyed by draining and peat extraction. Between 2005 and 2012, the "Rosenheimer Stammbeckenmoore" near Raubling underwent one of the largest raised bog renaturations in Central Europe. In the former peat extraction areas, drainage ditches were closed and peat walls were filled to keep the rainwater in the moor. Plant growth and species richness are now greatly increasing on the rewetted areas. They also help to protect against flooding and climate change (reduction of greenhouse gases). In this work camp, you will have the opportunity to make the original nature in the moors and nature conservation work accessible and tangible in an ecologically compatible way. You will build hiking trails made of wood, slate and bark mulch, clear bushes, build wooden benches and tables, create an experience station for insects and build a wooden shed, all with a fantastic view of the Bavarian Alps. The camp is sponsored by the municipality of Raubling and the Environmental, Cultural and Social Foundation in the district of Rosenheim.
