İş Tanımı
The project consists of two key components. First, we support families engaged in self-employment by enhancing their income-generating activities, which include home gardening, family workshops, and nurseries. In the second component, we visit villages to engage with the community, including self-help groups, cleaning activities with villages, youth, and local institutions like temples and kindergartens. This allows volunteers to share their lives, cultures, and experiences with the locals while fostering meaningful connections within the community.
Konaklama ve Yemek
Stay in a village house with a welcoming host family, conveniently located near the village s main road. Our host mother prepares delicious meals for us. The house has electricity, and filtered drinking water is provided. Mobile phones work well, and 3G data connections are available, but there is no Wi-Fi. You can use toilet paper here, and laundry is done by hand, with clothes hung outside to dry.
Konum ve Serbest Zaman
The project is located in the rural village of Siyabalagas wewa, 248 km from Colombo. The nearest town is 8 km away, while Anuradhapura city is 24 km from the site. Mihintale, a historically significant location visited by Lord Buddha, is also 8 km away. The climate in this region is warm with low humidity. Most villagers are engaged in paddy farming, with only a few working in offices in Anuradhapura city.
