Anita’s Memorial Day care-center is an initiative established to honor dreams and vision of a young lady the Late Anita Mlay who has an intention to establish children center to support vulnerable
children in her community but she passed away at a very early age before realizing her dream. The day care is a registered entity by the Government operating in the small town of Usa River. Child
space of Anita’ memorial is a project aiming to increase the overall wellbeing of the children in the community through various approaches. The overall goal is; to provide a safe place for children of
all ability during the day to spend their time while their parents are in work. To provide accessible quality services for children from low-income families and children with all abilities and vulnerable.

To assist in training children to understand basic social skills that will help them to interact well with other people, manner etc.
To assist monitoring of children to ensure they remain safe as they go about their activities.
To assist in organizing activities which will help the kids to relax but also learn. This may include games, sports, Arts, Craft, Music classes, Movie/ cartoon watching etc.

Food: Food will be provided at the project accommodation. For sustainability reasons we will most consume food harvested in the community/Region. However vegetarian meals will be available. There is always a person to manage kitchen; however, volunteers are expected to give hand in meals preparations.
Accommodation: Volunteers will be accommodated in the host family within the community where basic accommodation facilities will be provided. Expect to share room with either host
family member or other volunteer from the same or other projects.

Usa river is a small town located about 23km east of Arusha city and almost the same distance west of Kilimanjaro International airport. It serves as the district capital of Arumeru District in the Arusha Region. The town is known for its mix of local residents and expatriates, with many involved in tourism and agriculture. It's a growing community with a friendly atmosphere and a reasonable cost of living. Usa River acts as a gateway to nearby attractions like Arusha National Park and Mount Meru the second highest mountain in Tanzania.
Weekends and public holidays are free for volunteers. For volunteers engaging for a period of one year, they will also have full holiday of thirty days. However, volunteer has freedom to choose
what they would like to do with their holidays. Possibilities from Arusha includes:
Hiking Mount Meru & Mount Kilimanjaro
Wildlife safaris (Arusha, Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro parks among many others.)
Cultural and eco-tourism around the regions.

This project is looking for a person with interest to work with children, Open minded and ready to be challenged. A person Interested in other cultures and local realities, patient and
committed, creative and easy to adopt to the situations.
Volunteer should prove to have zero records on crime against children
The project will be starting every first Monday of a month for smooth preparation of volunteers’ welcoming and training/orientation arrangements.
Minimum duration to participate on medium term voluntary service is four weeks and
maximum twelve weeks.
Medium term voluntary service volunteer is required to have Ordinary visa category A6. You can consult Tanzania Immigration website on online application procedures. UVIKIUTA will provide invitation letter and other supporting documents.
