This project is organized in cooperation with “Community Routes” a community-based organization aiming to mobilize collective action, empower marginalized groups, and implement solutions tailored to their specific unique challenges, such as improving education, healthcare and environmental sustainability. Natural and cultural heritage conservation is an initiative aiming to preserves our cultural identity, connects us to history, and sustains our communities. It also has environmental benefits, such as reducing waste and promoting sustainable practices, and provides economic advantages like job creation.
Ultimately, it helps pass on a rich legacy to future generations. This particular project is focusing on Natural Heritage that Includes ecosystems, and species of plants that are unique or significant in the community life. On Cultural Heritage part is focusing on Intangibles that is Folklore, traditions, languages, and knowledge. It also looks at Culturally significant landscapes like places where human settlement and land use have a deep cultural meaning in the community.

Volunteers will have an opportunity to participate fully or partly in the following listed activities:
1.Environmental Protection: Assist in establishment and maintenance of herbs and medicinal plants garden, taking part in clean-up events, supporting waste reduction and recycling activities.
2.Participate in Music and arts activities with local artist to compose songs, create arts and drama with relevant project messages for community events, mainstream and social media.
3.Community events: Assist in organization of heritage event with cultural performances, and public exhibitions to showcase and preserve our heritage.
4.Digital experiences: Assist in documentation of cultural and heritages that will offer virtual experiences to make our heritage accessible to a wider audience.
5. Education and capacity building: Assist in educating and training people, especially young people, on the importance of heritage conservation and how to manage it effectively.
6.Participate in Inter-generational exchange activities aiming to provide an opportunity to explore and understand community heritages through indigenous knowledge.
7 .Assist in organizing community sports event competitions with the aim of promoting and conserve world, community cultural and natural heritages.
Konaklama ve Yemek
Accommodation will be at the community residential house. Volunteers should expect to share rooms with other volunteers. There is also an option of camping outside especially when received good number of volunteers. Three meals will be provided at accommodation where volunteer will enjoy actively participation in meals preparation, dish washing and kitchen cleaning. For sustainability reasons, we will consume only food available in the area/Region. However vegetarian meals will be available.
Konum ve Serbest Zaman
The word "Marangu" means a place with many water streams. It is one of the most popular places in Tanzania. Located at the foot of Africa's tallest mountain, the quaint village of Marangu offers fascinating insight into both modern Tanzanian life and into the lives of the Chagga people who once withstood vicious Masai raids through the ingenious use of tunnels. Residents of Marangu are coffee and banana farmers. Plantations and natural vegetation has been keeping the area green throughout the year. Tourism is also one of the major activities that contribute significantly to the economy of the area. The community is located about 40km east of Moshi town the capital of Kilimanjaro, it is accessible through private and public transport. Social services including markets, shops, banks, health facilities are available in the community.
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are free, however, volunteers are advised to have an allowance of extra 2-3 days before or after the project to enjoy what this part of the country offer in terms of cultural and natural attractions. Options for leisure activities includes; Wild-life safari (Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Tarangire National parks); Mount Kilimanjaro trekking, Eco and cultural tourism among many other options.
