As the globally active cultural institution of the Federal Republic of Germany, the institute advocate for understanding between Germany, Europe and the world. The framework agreement with the German Federal Foreign Office is the foundation for this work. Worldwide, the institute provide information about the cultural and societal diversity of Germany and Europe. 151 Goethe-Institutes in 98 countries together with numerous partner institutions form the basis of our global network. The Federal Foreign Office supports their work institutionally. As a registered charity the institute operate autonomously on a legally independent basis and are not affiliated to any political party. The institute generate around a third of our revenue ourselves through income from language courses and examinations. The institute also receive support from the European Union (EU), further German federal ministries as well as foundations and companies in Germany and abroad.
• Vietnam Global Outreach: Project coordination and management, recruitment and selection, training organization, logistics and operational support, financial management, monitoring and evaluation, and communication and outreach.
Vietnam Global Outreach (V.GO) – a social enterprise working on Youth development, Intercultural learning and Global citizenship training. Through Global Youth Camps, V.GO provides a variety of opportunities and environments for Vietnamese Youth to build their global skills to become global active citizens while cooperating with international volunteers to implement social activities for the community.

* Background:
Vietnamese architecture provides a rich narrative of the country's history and cultural evolution, especially through the colonial and post-colonial periods. By examining architectural elements and hearing firsthand accounts from individuals who lived during these times, the project will offer valuable insights into the societal impacts of architectural changes. Through the use of artistic and creative format, including documentary film and cultural tours, This initiative will foster cultural exchange between Vietnamese and German youth, enhancing their understanding of Vietnam’s architectural heritage.
* Objective:
- To document and share the stories of change and cultural experiences of Vietnamese people through the lens of architecture.
- To engage youth in conversations about the lasting impact of colonialism in contemporary Vietnam.
- To facilitate cross-cultural learning and exchange between Vietnamese and German participants.
- To highlight the role of community spaces in daily life before and after colonialism.
* The project will focus on three distinct locations:
• Hanoi's Old Quarter: Showcasing commercial and urban life in the capital.
• Hai Phong: A port city with significant historical relevance during the French colonial period.
• Pho Hien: a hub for domestic and foreign trade routes, a gateway to the ancient capital city of Thang Long.
Participants will document their findings through interviews, video content, and guided tours.
* Main activities will include:
- Training (2 days, 1 night): Includes sessions on video and content creation, interview techniques, information gathering, and designing cultural tours.
- Workshops: Providing inputs for the participants which focus on the architecture of Vietnam before and after colonialism, and the context of post-colonialism in Vietnam.
- Field Trips and Project Implementation: Participants will be divided into three groups, each working on a different space and community. One group will be led by "Nghe bang mat" – A community group run by deaf youth in Hanoi. Each group will have the mentors' accompanying and support on technique and content.
- Cultural Tours: Three tours to the three different locations, combined with workshops led by the respective groups. One inclusive tour will be conducted by the "Nghe bang mat" group.
- Evaluation camp: Review and reflect on the project process, and evaluate the outcome and objectives of the projects.

Location: No. 72, Pham Than Duat Street, Mai Dich Commune, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.
Participants will live at the volunteer's house with other LMTV volunteers from different countries in shared bedrooms and bathrooms. There is a kitchen with food provided by VPV staff. There is a washing machine and wifi.

Notlar
- ONLY for German speaking participants
- Each German participant will get 500 Euros of financial support for their transportation (by cash) at the project's end.
- Participation fee: 1200 Euros. This fee covers accommodation, food, local transport to the projects and administration costs for total 10 weeks.
